Angelika Kauffmann Museum and Folklore Museum, Schwarzenberg
Art and culture, Museum
The Angelika Kauffmann Museum in Schwarzenberg is a typical Bregenzerwald house from the 16th century with modern showrooms.
Invisible from the outside, the museum contains a new exhibition room in the former economy wing. Here, annually changing thematic exhibitions with original works by the famous painter Angelika Kauffmann (1741-1807) are shown.
The museum of local history has been located in the former residential part of the house since 1928. On a tour, visitors can gain comprehensive and directly tangible insights into a rural living and everyday culture of the 19th century.
